spirituality and religion
Aside from the medical and social consequences that go along with a life with HIV, you might also start seeing your life and your future in a different light. Some people find support in their religion or philosophy of life, and this could mean something different for everyone. It varies from person to person. Some young people with HIV also experience HIV as something that has given their life a positive turn, however strange this might sound.

I come from a Christian family, but I do not have much with religion myself. Still; I feel that even though not every one is a believer, no one lives without spirituality.
I feel like I am given a second chance to live.
Therefore I would like to spend it positively. I feel like a new person, with a new life, and new beginning.
When I found out I am hiv positive in 2004 I was very tired. Originally coming from an African country I discovered my status while I was in prison. I had to get used to taking medication, having a lack of energy sometimes, and was feeling down.
It took me a while to grasp that my life will never be the same as before, not for a hundred percent anyway. Having realised this now, dreams are coming back, like continuing my study and having children..
I stopped to worry about yesterday, live more within the moment. I forgive myself every day.
