for and by young people with HIV

parents & intermediaries

As the parent of a child with HIV, or as a caregiver who works with people who are HIV positive, you will have questions about living with HIV. This site, made by and for young HIV-positive people between the ages of 18 and 30, will give you an idea of the kinds of things these young adults are concerned about. The topics presented here can offer you insight into certain - and often sensitive - themes or can help you in discussing those themes with a child or client. So while the site is made by and for young people, a parent or intermediary can find useful information that can offer support in daily life and work.

The tips below provide even more possibilities for gathering information. They focus on organisations that have something to offer. Sometimes the telephone numbers are listed for places where you can have a one-on-one conversation with people and ask any questions you might have. The idea is to present starting points for making certain topics easier to understand and possible to discuss. These could be topics such as living with HIV, work & study, responsibility, sexuality, relationships, choosing to have children and so on.
