when and how to tell?

I told my story to someone very special. I started by saying, 'I am going to tell you something that might seem difficult for you but is actually not so hard for me. So in time things will turn out OK.'

You can create a calm and comfortable setting with soothing background music. Beforehand, you can maybe spend a couple of hours talking about some other more pleasant subjects. Making the listener feel relaxed and at ease will contribute to a better atmosphere in which to talk. Myself, I was nervous and pale, but that was not so bad. The person you're going to confide in should be sensitive to the seriousness of what they are about to hear.
